At around 4pm, two boys were approached by a group of youths who threatened the pair with a knife and took their bicycle. The group of offenders were described as three men and one woman, all wearing dark clothing and aged around 15-17 years old.

Detective Constable Catherine Layton, investigating, said: “This incident took place late afternoon on a Saturday when a number of people would have still been on the Downs. It was a traumatising incident for the victims involved and I would like to speak to anyone who saw anything related to this incident that day.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call DC Layton on 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
