Knife threat during robbery bid

A man was threatened at knifepoint by two robbers who demanded his car keys.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery in Luton last Wednesday (6 April).

The victim was walking along Vincent Road, Luton, between 11.20pm and 11.35pm, when he was approached by two men. One of the men produced a knife and demanded the victim’s car keys.

The victim ran away but was chased by one of the offenders, who then assaulted him.

Detective Constable Rebecca Kitts, investigating, said: “The victim was chased by the offenders for quite some distance from the original scene, so it is likely there will be some witnesses to this incident. There are numerous blocks of flats in the area, and a number of shortcuts used to get to different neighbourhoods.

“Fortunately the victim did not sustain any serious injuries, but we will not tolerate behaviour like this.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen something suspicious at the time of the incident, or from anyone who knows who is responsible.”
