Luton address being search by police following arrests for suspected terrorism offences

An address in Luton is being searched by the police today (Friday) as part of an investigation by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command.

It follows officers arresting a 57-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman at an address in north London earlier today, which is also being searched.

The man was arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act (TACT) 2006.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing money or property for the purposes of terrorism contrary to section 16 TACT, 2000.

Both were detained under PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) and taken to a south London police station where they currently remain in police custody as enquiries continue.
