Luton drug dealer caught with heroin and lock knife jailed for six months

A Luton drug dealer caught carrying a lock knife has been jailed for six months.

Jamil Ahmed, 25, of Blenheim Crescent, was arrested by police on February 10 for possession of heroin with intent to supply.

Also found on his person was a lock knife.

Ahmed was alleged to have attempted to escape police custody, although this charge was not proceeded with.

Today at Luton Crown Court, he was sentenced to a total of six months imprisonment for carrying the knife, along with eight weeks concurrent for possession of class A drugs.

The judge ordered forfeiture of both the knife and the drugs.

A further charge of carrying a knife also resulted in a six month sentence, to be served concurrently.
