Luton man jailed for breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order

A man from Luton has been put behind bars after he breached his conditions of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Marc Watson, 37, was found with a smart bracelet and a smartwatch – despite not being allowed to use devices capable of accessing the internet – during a visit from the Offender Management Unit in January.

He was also found to be in possession of prohibited materials, in breach of the order.

And although he tried to delete the app, officers found he had spoken with a child under the age of 16 via Instagram.

He was sentenced 42 months in prison.

Bedfordshire Police said the judge highlighted the seriousness of the breaches and reinforced the importance of these orders in protecting the public.

The force explained: “Our Offender Management Unit plays a vital role in identifying and managing risk at an early stage, tackling escalating behaviour, reducing opportunities for reoffending and preventing harm before it happens.”
