Luton woman charged over man's brutal attack in Houghton Regis

A third person has been charged over a brutal attack in Houghton Regis last week which left a man with serious injuries.

Police were called to Hammersmith Gardens at around 6.40pm on Thursday, May 7, following reports that a man had been attacked.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and is now in a stable condition.

On Sunday, 40-year-old Grant Melia, of Southwood Road, Dunstable, and David Warpole, 40, of Recreation Road, Hougton Regis, were charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent in connection to the incident.

Today, Beds Police announced that Lisa Smallbones, 35, of The Ridings, Luton - has also been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Mr Warpole is additionally charged with arson and taking a vehicle without consent.

They have all been remanded in custody pending a court appearance on June 8.

A fourth person arrested in connection to the incident has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
