Man seriously injured after vicious attack in Luton town centre

The attack took place at around 7.30pm in Wellington Street yesterday (Wednesday).

When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found the victim - a man in his 50s - badly injured. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

One man is currently in custody in connection with the offence.

DC Helen Pecorini said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have any information about the incident to get in touch with us.

“We believe there were a number of cars in the area at the time, so we would be particularly keen to hear from anyone in those vehicles, especially if they have dash cam footage.

“Any details or information about the area at the time, no matter how small, could be integral to our investigation.”
