Man shot near Lewsey Park just a week after five people arrested for weapon fight in same street

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in the Lewsey Park area at around 11.45pm on Wednesday, July 22.
Police received reports of several gun shots being fired in Pastures Way.

Hide AdEmergency services attended the scene and found the victim suffering from apparent pellet gun wounds.
He was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not life threatening or life changing.
This latest shooting comes just seven days after a violent disorder in the same street, in which five people were arrested,
Just before 10.30pm on Wednesday, July 15, police were called to reports of a large group of people fighting with weapons in a car park on Pastures Way. Two men suffered minor injuries and two vehicles were damaged.

Hide AdRegarding the latest incident, Detective Sergeant Wil Taylor said: “We are appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward as this will help us with our enquiries.
“We currently have one man in custody for questioning, but believe there were other people involved, who we are keen to identify.
“Tackling gun crime is a priority for the force and we want to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to investigate this incident.”
