Man suffers head injuries in daylight Luton attack


A man suffered head injuries after being pushed to the ground in a daylight assault in Luton.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the man was hurt in an assault in the town last Tuesday, September 15.

The incident happened outside The Chequers pub in Park Street at around 5.25pm.

The victim was pushed to the floor by a man, resulting in him banging his head and causing injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Olyver Tomlinson, investigating, said: “We believe that a verbal altercation had taken place inside the pub, which was shortly followed by this physical assault on the pavement outside the establishment.

“I’d urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or the altercation inside the pub, to contact us immediately to help us investigate what happened.”

The offender is described as black, aged in his 20s, around 5ft 8ins tall and of average build.
