Man suffers serious injuries after falling from bridge on M1

The M1 has been reopened in Luton after a man fell from a bridge this morning.

The motorway was closed in both directions between junction 11 (Luton) and junction 12 (Toddington) after police received reports that a man had fallen from a bridge onto the carriageway around Chalton at 9:50am.

Emergency services were called to the motorway at 10:15am and an air ambulance attended the scene, while a land ambulance was also dispatched.
