Police closed down a second brothel in two months today, following complaints from residents about Anti-Social Behaviour.

At just after 1am officers from the local policing team executed a warrant at The Palm Beach Club in Adelaide Street, following a large number of complaints about noise and continuous Anti-Social Behaviour.

Two women– aged 38 and 48– were arrested on suspicion of managing a brothel while a number of men at the location were given “police advice” before leaving the location.

It comes just a month after Paradise Sauna & Health Club, on Wellington Street, was raided by officers.

Sgt Melissa Cunningham said: “This is the second brothel my team has closed in this area within the last two months.

“We were able to obtain a warrant from the Magistrates court which allowed us to enter the brothel.

“We have returned to the Magistrates Court today (Thursday) and obtained an order which will keep the premises closed for a further three months.”
