Police search for offenders who shot teen in the back with pellet gun

A Luton teen had to be taken to hospital on Sunday after two masked people shot him in the back with a pellet gun.

The 18-year-old victim had attended a house party in Addington Way, Luton, until approximately 1.30am and decided to go to the local MacDonalds for something to eat with a group of friends.
As they made their way along Addington Way two masked people appeared and shot the man in the back.

He attended hospital and was treated for wounds to his back, after which the police were alerted to the incident.

DC Tom Stean, investigating, is keen to trace members of the public who heard or saw the incident and would make a direct appeal to those who were also at the party with the victim to contact officers.

DC Stean said: “The victim did not suffer any serious injuries and is now at home recovering.

“There would have been a lot of noise when this offence happened and it is possible that someone looked out of their window or saw the two masked men loitering in the area prior to the shooting.

“We need the public to come forward and help stop these people before someone does get seriously hurt and I would reassure anyone with information that they can speak with officers, in confidence, or alternatively they can speak, anonymously, to Crimestoppers.”

Anyone with information relating to this crime can contact DC Stean, in confidence, at Luton Police Station, on 01582 394084, or Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.

Alternatively you can contact the independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
