Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service stated: "Today our crew from Stopsley were mobilised to rescue a 5-month-old puppy trapped under a wooden building.

"They rescued the puppy using a triple extension ladder and a spade.

"Here she is, safe and sound with two of our firefighters!"

Hiding under beds, tables and other enclosed spaces is common behaviour in dogs.

But owners are warned to remain vigilant around outdoor spaces such as raised caravans and outbuildings, which may pose a danger if dogs become trapped.

In July, firefighters in Florida praised after rescuing two dogs and 11 puppies trapped under a garden shed in Pasco county.
