The 30-year-old was on the busway at the junction of Clifton Road on October 7 when four men approached him from behind and threatened him with a belt.

They demanded he emptied his pockets so he handed over a small amount of cash and his reading glasses, before being punched in the face which caused him to fall to the floor.

The group then ran off as the victim lay on the floor at about 2.45pm.

The offenders were all Asian and unfortunately the victim has not been able to provide a full description of them.

Det Con Richard Cunningham said: “I am keen to speak with a passing cyclist who stopped to assist the victim and would urge anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery to come forward and talk to us. Even the smallest piece of information could help.”
