Romanian man extradited to UK 18 months after violent robbery in Luton home

A man has been extradited to England 18 months after a violent robbery in Luton in which three people were injured.

A man has been charged over the robbery in Montrose Avenue in 2019, which left three people seriously injured.

Sandel Hornea, 36, from Romania, was extradited back to the UK on Saturday, March 27, after Bedfordshire Police worked with the Romanian authorities.

He was charged with nine offences at Luton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 30, and has been remanded into custody.

The charges were as follows:

> Three counts of wounding

> Two counts of Section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH)

> One count of actual bodily harm (ABH)

> One count of robbery

> One count of theft from a person

> One count of burglary

He will appear before Luton Crown Court on May 4.
