Second man to appear in court in Natalia investigation

A 72-year-old man from Scotland has been summoned to court in connection with a police investigation into the death of Natalia Doherty.

Joseph Doherty, has received a summons to answer the charges of preventing a lawful burial, obstructing a coroner in the execution of his duty and perverting the course of justice in relation to the discovery of 50-year-old Natalia Doherty’s remains in a garden in Luton in December 2015.

Daniel Doherty, 67, of Icknield Way, Luton, was charged with the same offences last week.

Both men are due to appear before Luton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 26.

The last confirmed sighting of Natalia, who was also known as Natalia Wilkanowska, had been in April 2003.

The investigation into Natalia’s disappearance has been carried out by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
