Martin Druce, 57, of Fourth Avenue, Luton, entered the property near the town centre by telling the children he needed to use the toilet back in May 2015.

The mother of one of the girls had been asleep in an upstairs room.

Druce then indecently exposed himself to the two girls and attempted to force them to engage in sexual activity.

The 57-year-old was spotted on CCTV near the property, allowing police to trace his car.

He was later arrested by officers and remanded into custody after being charged in connection with the offence.

At a hearing in Luton Crown Court last Monday (March 14), Druce was sentenced to 11 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Detective constable Mohammed Hussain said: “This was an abhorrent act against two innocent children which will no doubt have left them scarred. Clearly Druce is a dangerous man and thankfully this case demonstrated excellent multi-agency work to identify and detain him.

“The operation was made more complex by the fact the offences took place on the day of Luton Carnival, when the town was full of people and CCTV was also being utilised to monitor the event.

“I am pleased that the length of Druce’s sentence reflects the severity of his offending and will prevent him from committing further criminal acts.”
