Police are urging motorists not to leave valuables in their vehicles after a spate of thefts in Houghton Regis and Barton-le-Clay.
Thieves stole power tools and hand tools from 13 vans on Tuesday night and there have been a number of other similar thefts in the area.
Inspector Jim Hitch said: “The latest incidents involved thieves targeting work vans for tools, but it is important everyone is vigilant to this kind of theft.
“Simple precautions such as removing valuables from vehicles takes away the temptation for opportunist thieves.
“We would also ask people to report suspicious activity around vehicles.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
