Two people charged after man brutally attacked in Houghton Regis

Two men have been charged after another man suffered serious injuries in a brutal attack in Houghton Regis.

Police were called to Hammersmith Gardens at 6.38pm on Thursday, May 7, following reports of a man being badly injured.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and is now in a stable condition.

Two men were later arrested at an address in the town.

Grant Melia and David Warpole, both aged 40, have been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Warpole has also been charged with arson and taking a vehicle without consent in connection with a car which was found burned out on the same evening.

A 35-year-old woman and 24-year-old man were arrested this morning (Sunday) and remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Dani Bailey, investigating, said: “A man has suffered really serious, potentially life-changing, injuries as a result of this incident.
