Police investigating a robbery at a betting shop in Luton have issued CCTV images in a bid for the public to come forward.
The robbery took place at Ladbrokes in Chapel Street at around 9.45pm on Sunday, October 25, when two men walked into the store demanding cash.
The offenders tried to climb over the counter before a staff member handed over money from the tills.
The men were thought to be carrying imitation guns and made off in the direction of Matalan.
Det Sgt Tom Stean, investigating, said: “I would like to reassure the community that we do not tolerate robbery and are doing all in our power to trace those responsible and bring them to justice.
“This was understandably a distressing incident for the shop workers involved but thankfully no-one was hurt and we do not believe any viable weapons were used in the attack.
“I am keen to speak to the two men pictured, or anyone who has information about this incident.”
Bedfordshire Police has advised that in the event of a robbery, the public not attempt to take matters into their own hands or be tempted to fight off the offenders themselves. If a crime is in progress, contact police on 999 immediately.
Anyone who recognises the men pictured or has any information about the incident is asked to call DS Stean on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
