Woman sexually assaulted in Luton while crossing footbridge

Police are investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger while walking in Luton.

At around 8.15pm on Wednesday, September 30, the a woman was walking along Turners Road South and heading towards Turners Road North.

As she went over the footbridge, she was approached by a man who grabbed her and then sexually assaulted her.

The woman managed to push the offender away and ran from the scene.

The offender is described as an Asian man, around 5'4'' tall with spiky black hair. At the time of the offence, he was seen wearing a striped blue top and baggy, light blue jeans.

PC Sakib Khan said: “No one should be targeted by this kind of violent behaviour in our neighbourhoods.

“We are dedicated to protecting our communities and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident.
