'˜Despicable' crime as woman attacked by burglar in Luton home

A woman was attacked and robbed in her own Luton home in a terrifying ordeal.

The attack happened on Tuesday, January 13 at around 11.30am as the victim was assaulted by a man who barged into her house in Cutenhoe Road.

He attempted to steal a necklace from around her neck, while a gold plated ladies Rotary watch and a broken solid gold bracelet were taken from the house.

The burglar is described as a young man, about 5’ 7” tall, with short black hair and was wearing a chestnut brown leather jacket.

He was wearing either cream coloured gloves or was using a cream coloured, long sleeved jumper to cover his hands.

Det Con Jason Wheeler said: “This is a despicable crime which left the victim with nasty injuries and has understandably left her feeling very shaken.

“I want to hear from anybody out there who may have witnessed a man matching this description in the area at the time, or anyone with information - including people who may have been offered the stolen items.

“I would urge anyone who can help us find out who committed this awful crime to get in touch with me as soon as possible.”
