Detective Constable Vicky Cunningham said: “The victim in this case was particularly vulnerable and her vulnerability has been taken advantage of in this incident.

“We’re keen to talk to anyone who may have had someone knocking on their door with a similar request, or anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the incident.

“We’d also remind people to never allow a stranger into your house, whatever their reason, and to contact police if you have any concerns about someone trying to enter your house on false grounds.”

Anyone with information is advised to contact DC Cunningham on 101 or text 07786 200 011.
