Docs don demolition gear as work on cardio centre tickers along

LUTON & Dunstable Hospital consultant cardiologist Dr Chris Travill is so excited about the prospect of having a new cardiac centre for his patients that he and his colleagues decided to help the demolition works get off to a start.

The cardiac centre is being created by redeveloping the old medical records library and will mean that local people will be able to have coronary investigations and treatment at the L&D rather than having to travel to London or elsewhere.

The new centre will cost £5.5 million.
