A TEAM of seven teenagers taking part in a three-week charity challenge is committed to doing something amazing for Cancer Research UK.

Calling themselves Aspire2Inspire, they want to raise money and awareness for an organisation that is close to their hearts.

Their fundraising efforts kick off with a charity Iftar dinner at ASR Learning Centre in Biscot Road on July 29.

Luton Sixth Form College project leader Hifzur Rahman, 17, explained the challenge involves four teams, each fundraising for a different charity. It is run by youth organisations CYCD (Centre for Youth and Community Development) and ASR Projects.

Aspire2Inspire, sponsored by HR Tuition, took part for the first time last year. They won an award for raising awareness of Anthony Nolan, the charity that appeals for bone marrow donors.

Hifzur said: “We’ve already had a couple of workshops on marketing and leadership led by directors from Orange and Luton Town Football Club.

“We hope to do even better this year.”
