A Luton college has been blasted for placing a “sexist and racist” job advert.
The A4 poster, which is stuck to the window of Luton International College in Stuart Street, states that “female staff” are required for “admin, office work, PA, secretary and marketing”.
It adds: “Preference will be given to Polish, Luthivanian (sic) and Romanian girls”.
After spotting the advertisement in the college’s window, Luton businessman Martin Howes described the language “sexist and racist”.
He told the Herald & Post: “Although it is 40 years since the Sex Discrimination Act, I know that discrimination does still happen.
“However, I was shocked that anyone would be so brazen about it.”
When the Herald & Post contacted the college yesterday, principal Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman was unavailable for comment.
