Luton school children were hit with World Cup fever when a replica of the famous gold trophy made its way into their classrooms as part of an innovative education project.
World Cup Week of Learning is a joint programme between Luton Town Football Club and local charity Unleashing Potential.
More than 600 youngsters will take part in interactive assemblies on the Hatters’ hallowed ground next month. The focus will be on inspiring reluctant readers through football, as well as encouraging those who are struggling at school.
Unleashing Potential is also the driving force behind the Malawi Book Drive, which aims to recycle books from local schools by distributing them in Malawi, where they are really needed.
