St Martin de Porres Primary School pupils dressed up as superheroes to celebrate coming third in Luton in the Big Pedal competition organised by travel charity Sustrans.
The contest – held to encourage journeys on two wheels – was won by Wigmore Primary School with Warden Hills Junior School in second place.
More than 350 students and staff at St Martin de Porres donned home-made costumes to mark their success while several posed for a photograph with super head John Carroll.
Sustrans schools officer Richard Noon said: “Last year Luton and Dunstable school recorded more than 35,000 journeys – the second highest in the country, excluding London.” He added: “Children and parents support the competition because the kids love it and it’s good for their health and wellbeing.”
