Shoppers will also be able to visit a range of stalls selling festive gifts, food and drink at Luton Council’s Christmas Market which is coming to George Street from Thursday, November 29, for three days.

Luton Business Improvement District (BID) is supporting the council’s Christmas Market and will also be bringing Peter Rabbit and Paddington to the lights switch-on to entertain families, before the big light up at 6.15pm.

Cllr Rachel Hopkins, portfolio holder for culture, said: “This really is a family event not to be missed.

“It’s a great start to Christmas, with loads for children to do.

“Peter Rabbit and Paddington are very popular TV characters and will create a real buzz, so we are delighted that Luton BID have arranged for them to join us.”
