Family’s joy with OCC shoeboxes

Sue Briggs of Slip End always reminds her four grandchildren how lucky they are when she shows them photographs of the children she and her colleague Amanda Dervley visited in Belarus with Operation Christmas Child.

She said: “The three older ones always get involved in making shoeboxes and five-year-old Evie takes a real interest.”
They couldn’t believe the children in the picture above – Lisa, six, Arytom, four and two-year-old Zhenya, who live in Wolozin – had never received a present until Sue (in red jumper) and Amanda arrived with shoeboxes full of gifts.

> You can bring joy to a needy child in the Third World by taking part in the Operation Christmas Child campaign. The Herald&Post is proud to be a shoebox drop-off point from November 1 to 18. All the details are on the charity’s website – www.samaritans-purse.org.uk
