Festive party with poetic style

If you’ve got poetry in your soul, there’s no better time to join Luton Poetry Society.

They’re hosting their annual Christmas poetry party at 2pm on Saturday December 12 at Luton Central Library and new members will be made most welcome.

Founder and Luton poet laureate Mary Emeji said: “Don’t miss it – and bring along your Christmas verses.

“We’re having Christmas poetry recitals, Christmas carols, classical music recitals and will be cutting our Christmas cake.”
She added: “When Lord Lieutenant Helen Nellis visited us recently, she said she was delighted to meet our enthusiastic members and to hear such wonderful poetry, and that we were continuing to support and ehnhance the tradition of poetry in our county.”
