FOUR-YEAR-OLD Finlay Armstrong may be in the middle of traumatic leukaemia treatment, but that didn’t stop the fiesty little fellow from taking part in a charity challenge at the weekend.

He and his 40-strong support group, Fin’s Fighters – started by his seven-year-old sister Hannah – completed the Bananaman Chase at Willen Lake on Sunday in aid of Leukaemia&Lymphoma Research.

And they’ve raised a whopping £5,000 for the charity.

His proud mum Tara said: “His dad carried him on his shoulders most of the way but he crossed the finishing line on his own, bless him.

“He was really up for running but his legs are really stiff with all of the drugs he’s taking.

“Everyone was crying at the end, we were all so emotional.”

When Finlay was diagnosed in September, Tara and her husband Tony determined to do all they could to raise awareness of the amazing work done by the charity Leukaemia&Lymphoma Research.

Their target for the event was £1,000 and they’re elated they’ve more than quadrupled the amount.

“It’s brilliant, amazing,” Tara said.

Their next fundraiser is a quiz night on Friday, November 4 – probably at Tea Green Golf Club,
