The Mayor of Luton, Cllr Dave Taylor, will be raising the flag in support of Armed Forces Day on Monday, June 22 at 10.30am outside the Town Hall.
The Rev Janet Mackenzie together with the Mayor will conduct a short ceremony in recognition of the dedication of the armed forces both past and present who have served this country over the years. The Mayor will then raise the Armed Forces Day flag which will fly until June 29
The public are welcome to attend the ceremony which will be attended by civic dignitaries from the county including Helen Nellis, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, as well as local councillors and representatives from the community and ex-service associations.
Mayor of Luton, Cllr Dave Taylor, said: “Armed Forces Day is a great opportunity to pay tribute to the nation’s serving personnel, veterans and their families and cadets. I hope members of the public will join us outside the Town Hall and show their support to the men and women who work tirelessly to protect the security and interests of our country.”
