Reach the Streetz will be the new Local Charity of the Year for Sainsbury’s in Bury Park, Luton after a vote in store and online by customers.
Reach the Streetz work in and around the Hart Hill area of Luton, giving children and young people a safe setting where they are away from negative influences.
Mark Muumbo, from Reach the Streetz, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be chosen as the Sainsbury’s Luton Local Charity of the Year. We can’t wait to work together and raise the profile of our charity over the next year. Thank you to all the customers that voted for us.”
To celebrate the announcement, a launch day will take place in store on Saturday, August 1. where customers can representatives from the charity and learn more about the work they do.
The store’s outgoing Local Charity of the Year partnership with Happy Days Children’s Charity came to the end in June with in excess of £5,000 being raised.
