The fund was set up by Pete Hilliard’s friend Helen Mead, following his third diagnosis of cancer in 18 months.

She wanted to raise money to help get Pete fit enough so he can climb Machu Picchu in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Pete Hilliard, 56, of Capron Road, said: “We would like as many players as possible, old and not so old, all are welcome. We are raising money for Keech Hospice, 4 Cancer Group and Pete’s Fighting Fund.

“We will have a bar with food and a disco after the games, we had a good turn out last year so hopefully we can do it again.”

The event is at Creasey Park from 4pm.
