Grasmere nursery throw a street party for the Queen's 90th

Children and staff at Grasmere Nursery School were joined by Kelvin Hopkins MP as they held a street party to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday on Friday.

Headteacher Joy Luxford said: “The children were keen to share their thoughts and feelings about Queen Elizabeth II and her special day.”

The street party was held in the school’s orchard with the pet ducks and guinea pigs joining the celebrations.

Ayaana, four, said: “We made a sandwich because it was the Queen’s birthday.”

Four-year-old Hamzah, added: “She wears high heeled shoes, a crown and likes to carry a handbag.”
