Former Lealands High pupil Alex Lawrence wowed the school’s annual presentation evening audience with a motivating speech that both entertained and inspired.
Alex – now creative director for a digital agency – told the capacity crowd how to overcome negativity, channel their inner superhero and keep striving for excellence.
More than 350 students, staff and parents packed the beautifully decorated sports centre to celebrate achievements over the past academic year.
The school’s ethos of ‘Aspire, Believe, Achieve’ was fully demonstrated with more than 100 prizes and awards presented in a variety of categories including progress, certificates of excellence and subject commendations.
A group of 12 who left in the summer were invited back to see their names engraved on school trophies and to receive prestigious trophies of their own.
The ceremony included singing and rapping from Performing Arts students, while 20 pupils received bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards.
