Gurch becomes PCT chair for county

PROFESSOR Gurch Randhawa has been appointed as the new chairman of NHS Bedfordshire and Luton.

The professor of diversity in public health and director of the Institute for Health Research at the University of Bedfordshire has been chairman of NHS Luton since early 2010. But after the Government’s decision to cluster Primary Care Trusts, he took the role for the whole county.

Mr Randhawa said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead both organisations through this period of significant change for the NHS and I look forward to the challenges this role will bring.”
