Helping young people into work

Pupils at local secondary schools will benefit from an education initiative being launched by Luton Airport.

Its Connect programme offers support for up to 300 pupils to develop their communication skills in preparation for the world of work and to equip them with the knowledge they need.

A recent British Chamber of Commerce survey reports that 57 percent of bosses identify a lack of basic skills – such as communication and team work – as an obstacle to employing young people.
