A charity dedicated to helping homeless young people is struggling through the Christmas period after losing over half of its funding through local government cuts.
LAMP – Luton Accommodation and Move-on Project – faces one of its toughest winters, but is determined to continue its vital work, handing out hampers over Christmas.
They featured in a video with Luton South MP Gavin Shuker, highlighting the difficulties charities face amid the cuts.
Chairman John Archer said: “We have now lost just about 70 percent of all our funding, nearly all of the local authority funding is gone.”
He added: “We’re really struggling to fund the charity and the work it’s trying to do for young people.”
