He spent two and a half years with the club, firstly on loan and then permanently, helping Town win promotion to the Championship, before being sold to Birmingham City for a fee of £2.5m. However, who would he select in his all-time best XI from players that pulled the Luton shirt on with him? The Luton News looks at just who made the final cut.
5. CB: Leon Barnett
Leon was a ready made replacement for Curt and slotted straight in when he left.
Would have loved to have seen them together. I used to hate training against Leon.
6. RM: Carlos Edwards
Proper winger with loads of ability and an unbelievable engine. He used to glide past people with ease.
7. CM: Kevin Nicholls
Nico epitomised Luton. His passion and willingness to fight were second to none but he had great ability, delivery and knew which pass to pick all the time. He would be my captain because he was also a fantastic leader on the pitch.
8. CM: Ahmet Berkovic
Berky probably played more out wide in our 4-4-2 formation but I liked him in the 10 where we could link up. His quality and eye for a goal were fantastic and he scored some absolute worldies.
