Inspirational dad from Luton surprised on live TV

Father-of-three Martin thought he was going to Keech for a recorded interview with ITV Anglia

Father-of-three Martin Rackley, 38, from Luton, was featured live on air after being nominated by his family, who say he is an ‘amazing dad’.

Martin’s daughter Ruby has a life limiting brain tumour and the 38-year-old gave up work to become her full time carer so his wife Emma could fulfill her dream of becoming a midwife.

He has also helped to raise money for Keech Hospice Care, which has looked after Ruby.

Speaking on GMB, Martin’s eldest daughter Chloe, 16, said: “We all love our dad, he is amazing, he is generous he is everything to us”.

Emma said: “Martin is an amazing dad to our three daughters, he’s an amazing husband to me as well.

“Ruby and her dad do have a very special bond.

“Martin gave up work to become Ruby’s full time carer when she was diagnosed so I could fulfill my dream of becoming a midwife.”

When he arrived at Keech this morning Martin thought he was there do an interview with ITV Anglia about the hospice.

Instead he was surprised by Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold and his family and friends live on air.

He was given a golden envelope containing a family trip to Centre Parcs, tickets to the British Grand Prix and he was treated to a ride in a Ferrari, which he will also get to drive at Silverstone Circuit.

Keech’s Sonya O’Leary said: “Martin is a wonderful dad, we’re really proud of him here at Keech Hospice Care.  “He absolutely deserves this, he’s done a wonderful job with Ruby.”
