Investigation launched after boy injured in Luton hit and run

Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was injured in a Luton hit and run on Wednesday.

At around 6pm, a dark-coloured Vauxhall car collided with the teenager at the junction of Churchill Road and Portland Road, before fleeing the scene.

The boy sustained an injury to his ankle and was taken to hospital.

PC Lauren Hubbold said: “Luckily the boy’s injuries are not serious, but this is a concerning incident.

“We are investigating the circumstances, and are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time, and who may have witnessed the collision, or who saw the car before or after the incident, to get in touch.

“If you have dashcam footage from the area, or have any information, we’d like to hear from you.”

Anyone with information can report it to police on 101 or via the online reporting centre, quoting reference 344 of 21 April.
