Event manager Cara Waller said: “It’s a great way for women of all ages to commit to getting a little more active. But it’s not about being fit or fast - participants can walk, jog or run.

Planning to raise money for life-saving research could prove even more of a goal and the atmosphere is incredibly supportive.”

She added: “We’re calling on the brave ladies of Bedfordshire to harness their fighting spirit once more and really show cancer who’s boss.”

> One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some stage on their lives.
