Jobs risk as forces consider outsourcing

MORE than 1,000 police staff jobs across Beds, Herts and Cambridgeshire would be affected by plans to outsource some services.

Later this month the three forces will put plans to use private companies for human resources, finance and IT to their respective police authorities.

The forces have already collaborated on a number of departments to cut costs.

Beds Police needs to save £5.5 million in the current financial year.
