Roses and balloons will symbolise harmony at this year’s Peace Walk, organised by Luton Council of Faiths and Grassroots.

They’re encouraging everyone to join children from Southfield, Chantry and St Martin de Porres primary schools for the town’s 19th annual event.

It starts from St Dominic Square on Tomlinson Avenue at 2.30pm on Saturday, September 26.

A spokesperson said: “This is an opportunity to expand your horizons by visiting different places of worship and learning about their traditions.

“You’ll be able to ask questions and make friends with fellow peacemakers.”

The walk includes Lewsey Christian Centre, Zakariya Masjid (mosque), St Martin de Porres Roman Catholic church, St Hugh’s Anglican church and Hindu Mandir (temple).

Walkers will be be able to view Lewsey primary schools’ Peace Artworks in St Dominic Square and a have a go at free archery session at the temple.

Zakariya Mosque is preparing roses with peace messages while St Hugh’s will blow up balloons with goodwill wishes.

Light refreshments will be provided and the walk is expected to finish after 6pm.
