Luton Community Housing (LCH) is celebrating after featuring as one of the UK’s top diversity companies.
It was rated number 29 in the Top 100 Index which highlights the very best in the country across 600 organisations.
Its placing was announced at an inaugural Grand Awards evening hosted by the National Centre for Diversity (NCFD) to recognise commitment and shining examples of excellent work around equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Chief executive Lynda Rees said: “It was such a milestone for us to be up against such huge organisations in the Top 100 awards, especially to come out in 29th place.”
She added: “We had a wonderful evening celebrating the achievement and we are extremely proud to represent Luton and our organisation for being leaders in diversity.”
The evening brought together some of the country’s most innovative, inspiring and influential people to celebrate the many achievements of some of the biggest organisations in the UK.
The NCFD Grand Awards 2016 also featured awards from a number of individual nomination categories.
Chief executive Solat Chaudry said: “I’m incredibly proud of all those who attended our first awards evening.
“I want to offer congratulations to all our winners, and those who were shortlisted were also very deserving of this level of recognition.”
LCH is a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing affordable housing since 1962.
Ms Rees said: “Once someone becomes a tenant we try to involve them in all aspects of the management of their homes.”
