Luton lights up for Christmas

Hundreds of people took to the streets outside the Town Hall in Luton on Saturday to watch the Christmas lights switch-on.

The lights were switched on by Maryam, who won the competition organised by Luton Council, she explained, through a picture and video, why she thought it was important that ‘Luton Gives Back’.

Visitors enjoyed performances from Luton in Harmony, carol singing and appearances from Mike the Knight and Evie.

Lighting Up Luton was organised by Luton Borough Council and Luton BID, the main sponsor was London Luton Airport Limited.
