Luton’s airport cyclists raise £32,000

Hailed as an overall success, the event wasn’t without its ups and downs. The cyclists battled heavy rain and one of the riders managed to get a record five punctures. But the team remained in good spirits throughout the trip, averaging around 80 miles in the saddle each day.

Sian Pearce, cyclist and Airport Community Relations Executive said: ‘This was a great challenge and a wonderful team event. We finished the ride on Saturday afternoon after four days of riding and enjoying the beautiful French countryside. I’m still a bit stiff and I’m walking slightly funny but it’s all in a good cause.’
