Luton's UkieToones launch new CD for Motorsport for MS

His quirky fundraising initiative – Motor Sport for MS – came to the attention of Colin Creasy of UkieToones And Colin’s band of equally eccentric ukelele players has recorded the theme tune for the venture – Born to be Wild.

They’re holding a dual launch on Saturday (March 11) at The Cannon in Newport Pagnell when Noel will reveal plans for his 2017 season while UkieToones will perform Born to be Wild, the title track on their new LP, which will be on sale with all proceeds going to the charity.

Vauxhall worker Colin is still bemused by UkieToones’ soaraway success. It started as a group of four practising twice a month at Totternhoe Football Club and now boasts up to 200 members. Last year they raised a whopping £48,000 for various good causes including YAWN 16 and the Luton and South Beds branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

It was UkieToones member Philip Dyer – who went to The Radcliffe School in Wolverton with Noel – who initially suggested recording a single. It turned into an album and Noel is hoping he’ll reach his £20,000 fundraising target . . . with a little help from his ukelele-playing friends.
